How can I size and operate my green hydrogen plant to maximize my benefits?

The transition to climate neutrality is bringing about profound changes in an energy system increasingly dominated by renewable resources. The non-manageable nature of these resources and increasing surplus generation necessitate solutions that ensure electrical supply and system reliability while also positively impacting the plant’s profitability. The complementarity of primary resources, storage or hydrogen production are … Read more

Support for the renewable integrated control center

Control rooms are essential for the safety and correct operation of any electric power plant. They monitor and analyze everything related to the process, detect incidents that occur during generation and take the necessary actions in accordance with operating procedures. It happens that, unlike conventional generation plants such as thermal or nuclear power plants, in … Read more

Integrated control centers – optimizing asset operation efficiency

What are Integrated control centers? The solution traditionally used to operate geographically dispersed power plants is to have an independent control center located at the site of each facility. This solution has major limitations in terms of taking advantage of the synergies related to the operation of the different facilities. An evolution of the traditional … Read more

Official presentation of the manifesto for offshore wind energy

More than 170 companies and organizations, including Tecnatom, have added their signatures to this Manifesto to promote the development of offshore wind energy in Spain and to ensure that our country maintains its position as world leader in floating offshore wind energy. Among the signatories to the Manifesto are the main actors who share the … Read more

Multi-technology hybridisation. Keys, objectives and solutions

The transition towards climate neutrality implies changes to an energy system that is characterised by an increasing predominance of renewable resources. The largely unmanageable nature of these resources and gradual withdrawal of synchronous generation lead to the need for solutions ensuring the electricity supply and the reliability of the system. Among other issues, the Spanish … Read more

CSP simulation: optimisation from design to operation

Thanks to its dispatchability, thermal-solar or concentrated solar power may play a key role in an electricity generation market dominated by renewable energy sources: it can be used as a back-up to the system as it allows energy to be stored during the day in the form of heat in tanks of thermal salts and … Read more

Robotized wind-blade inspections

With more than 2,500 wind turbines inspected around the world, the Eolos robot made its first job in Brazil at the CGN park in Santa Vitória do Palmar (RS). Three turbines were externally inspected and the results exceeded expectations. According to the cliente: “the image definition level is very good, bringing more visibility to the … Read more

5 tips to get top performance out of auto-consumption facilities

One of the main revolutions in energy transition, apart from clearly backing renewable energies in order to decarbonise energy consumption and generation, is recognition of the fact that the end consumer must play an active role in this transition and not act as a mere spectator. In recent years this has led to an increasing … Read more

Inspections and substitute testing in solar thermal power plants

central solar

Solar-thermal power plants are based on what is probably the most complex generating technology in the renewable energy sector. This type of plant uses energy from the Sun to heat a fluid, which is in turn used to move a turbine. A specific feature that makes these plants particularly interesting is their capacity to store … Read more

What is the energy transition and what are its challenges?

transicion energetica

In order to palliate the effects of climate change to the greatest possible extent, there is an urgent need to switch from the current energy model, based on a centralised, hierarchical electricity system predominantly comprising thermal generation, to a new decentralised model based on renewable energy sources, with priority given to the distribution networks, which … Read more
