Training
Customers are challenged to remain competitive, including maintaining a highly skilled resource pool that reflects the current workforce.
Efficient knowledge transfer, standards and policy training and training in specific skills are all critical to the success of today’s business.
Addressing these challenges requires new ways of operating and innovative solutions. Tecnaom’s people, technology and industry experience combine to offer new solutions to position companies for the long term.
We bring you a combination of fully complementary and interconnected Talent and Digital Transformation Solutions, stand-alone or bundled, to provide enhanced training solutions, performance and reliability optimizations and simulation and control room solutions that positively impact the plant’s bottom line. These integrated resources offer cost reductions, as well as an ability to improve knowledge transfer by engaging new learning styles, responding to an increased need for skilled resources and achieving the highest levels of performance in operations.
Our training model is based on the SAT methodology (Systematic Approach to Training), which consists of searching for and applying personalised solutions as per the needs of each client. These solutions tend to be flexible and are easily integrated into the work environment meaning process costs are reduced, as is training time.
The client is involved at every phase of this training method, with the overall aim of better identifying the needs of their industry within the fossil fuel sector and adapting the training to fulfil set objectives.
How do we Perform Training?
The training model offered by Tecnatom is based on a combination of face-to-face classes and highly technological tools, such as:
- Virtual reality
- 3D Models
- Interactive diagrams
- Graphic simulators
- Full-scope simulators
Our team of instructors consists of qualified professionals, who have a wealth of project experience from all over the world. They have detailed knowledge of the high standards demanded in the industry and of the best strategies needed to achieve the desired results.
Instructors take part in each phase of the training process, such as:
- Training program analysis
- Training course design
- Material and document preparation
- Classes
- Training plan assessment
- The development of tools to improve learning
To guarantee that these results are met, the instructors carry out a prior analysis of the needs of each industry, and then design and prepare a personalised training course for each client. They are also responsible for classes and for the assessment of the offered training plan. The best possible tools are used to best facilitate course learning.

Proficiency and Skills Training
In the last few years, some 400 workers have completed their initial training to work in thermal and combined-cycle plants all over the world, with more than 1000 receiving continuous training throughout plant operations. We’ve worked in many countries including Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Mexico, Ecuador, Jamaica, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Israel and South Africa.
Within the renewable energy sector, Tecnatom has carried out training projects in numerous plants around the world, with notable experience in the solar-thermal energy sector (tower and parabolic trough).
In addition to our technical training, we offer training on the skills required for working safely and efficiently. We also provide operations support capabilities for procedures, HFE, emergency management, safety culture evaluations, cause analysis, and field observations. We are committed to promoting safe, secure and reliable operations worldwide and, to that end, safety, security, safeguards and environmental protection are at the core of our services and products.
Benefits:
Cost reductions through independent, effective learning mechanisms
Engaging new learning styles for enhanced and rapid assimilation of material
Performance improvements in staff effectiveness and procedure adherence
Addresses increased needs for skilled resources
Leadership and Human Performance Improvement
Error is inherent to the human being. We are expected to fail, and as we know, we learn and improve when faced with challenges.
Analysis of industrial incidents show 80% of causes are related to human performance. If we delve deeper into those analyses, 30% are considered as individual errors while the remaining 70% are due to organizational weaknesses and barrier failures.
At Tecnatom we have been working over the last 20 years with organizations to improve worker performance. We work to anticipate failures, activating the conscious way of working to minimize its consequences and ensuring a reliable and safe operation.
Analyzing worker failures allows us to adjust tasks, systems, and processes to make them more operational in the hands of people. Our model defines the bases and factors related to human performance, including the influence of leadership, culture, working conditions and individual factors, proposing the best solutions in each case, both training and non-training solutions, to improve worker performance.
Tecnatom believes Teamwork and Leadership are key factors to success. We trust supervisors as a model, guide, and leader for job safety, so we work to enhance specific leadership skills to make work safer and much more effective.
