When this happens, the functionality of these systems is partially or<br>totally lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Generally, a high percentage of the alarms triggered are momentary alarms, which do not<br>require any action by the operator, so they could be eliminated.<br>In order to avoid increasing the high number of engineering hours required to&nbsp;<strong>eliminate these<br>alarms<\/strong>&nbsp;by implementing modifications to the control system, Tecnatom has developed the<br>TecOS ALERT solution, which provides an&nbsp;<strong>automatic filtering layer on the alarms generated<\/strong>. In<br>this way, the alarms generated and stored in the \u201calarm history\u201d are classified into two<br>categories; \u201cimportant alarms\u201d and \u201cfiltered alarms\u201d, so that the operator can focus its<br>attention on the \u201cimportant alarms\u201d display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" id=\"banner-tecnatom\"><a href=\"https:\/\/tecos.tecnatom.es\/alert\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tecnatom.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Banner_Desktop_eng-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27843\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As it can be seen in the images shown below, there is a high difference between the alarms<br>presented in the \u201calarm history\u201d display on the left and the ones that appear in \u201cimportant<br>alarms\u201d display on the right, making the above-mentioned clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tecnatom.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/grafico-redes-portatiles-1-1024x492.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27784\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Apart from the aforementioned automatic filtering, TecOS ALERT has two additional<br>functionalities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Manual filtering that temporarily prevents the presentation, in the display of<br>important alarms, of those alarms that are not being filtered automatically and, which,<br>in the opinion of the operating personnel, do not provide relevant information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reporting that provides valuable information that facilitates the realization of:<br>\u2013\u00a0<strong>Maintenance of the alarm system<\/strong>\u00a0and its associated instrumentation.<br>\u2013\u00a0<strong>Root cause analysis<\/strong>\u00a0after an operational incident.<br>\u2013 Identification of candidate alarms to be manually filtered.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, there are several generation units that benefit from the TecOS ALERT solution, such<br>as the Tuxpan III and IV Combined Cycles (owned by GPG and located in Mexico) that take<br>advantage of the possibilities offered by data science and the knowledge of experts in<br>operation of power generation plants, to r<strong>educe the cognitive load of the operator<\/strong>&nbsp;and<br>therefore the probability of incurring in an error during operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The TecOS ALERT solution enables alarm systems to be optimized at a lower cost and in a<br>significantly shorter time than traditional&nbsp;<strong>alarm management<\/strong>&nbsp;approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information visit&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/tecos.tecnatom.es\/alert\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TecOS ALERT<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tecnatom.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Monitores_background-1024x377.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27830\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In&nbsp;Alarm Systems, where status changes are notified through display screens, it is common forthe number of activations presented to exceed the limit recommended in internationalguidelines and standards.
