Javier Guerra new President of the Spanish Nuclear Society

Last Thursday, February 28, the Spanish Nuclear Society’s members’ assembly was held at the Industrial Engineering Department of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Within the context of that meeting, a new Board of Directors was selected and Javier Guerra, General Manager of Tecnatom and also, until his new appointment, Vice-President of the Nuclear Society, was named as the new President of the Society.

Javier holds a degree in Naval Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and has completed the Executive Development Program at IESE Business School. He joined Tecnatom in 1986, forming part of the Steam Generator Inspection Services Division. In 2007, he was appointed as Director of Technological Development and served in that position until he was named General Manager of the Tecnatom Group by the Board of Directors in April of 2011.

The Spanish Nuclear Society (SNE) is a non-profit association declared to be of public interest that was founded in 1974. It is made up of professionals and institutions and its aim includes promoting nuclear knowledge and disseminating nuclear science and technology. Currently, the Society has nearly a thousand individual members and over sixty collectives that take part. Amongst the individual members are engineers, scientists, doctors, jurists, economists, and students. Its collective members include public and private entities, companies, and organizations related with any type of nuclear activity, as is the case of Tecnatom.
