Angra-1 Control Room
Following a tough technical and economic battle against the most renowned companies at international level in the field of nuclear simulation, Tecnatom has emerged as the successful bidder in an international call for proposals issued by the electricity utility Eletrobras – Eletronuclear, the owner and operator of the Angra 1, 2 and 3 nuclear power plants in Brazil.
The contract includes the development, manufacturing, installation, validation, training on and start-up of a full-scope replica simulator for the Angra 1 plant. This 657 MWe plant has a Westinghouse design two-loop pressurised water reactor that entered into commercial operation in 1985.
This important contract, along with the one recently achieved for the supply of a replica simulator for the Atucha 2 plant in Argentina, confirms not only the technical and economic competitiveness of Tecnatom at international level in this area but also its increasing presence on the Latin American nuclear market.
